Fame, presented
in the spring of 2005, was the first western
musical production to tour Korea. Fame reached
a new market of audience, with stops in Seoul,
Daegu, Busan, Jeonju, and Kwangju, bringing
the Broadway musical to the cities across the
Korean peninsula. Touring with an American
based cast and multi-national crew, Fame established
the American touring musical as a viable commodity
in the Asian market. Originally presented in
the U.S. by a National Tour in 2004-2005, this
production put a fresh new spin on this tale
for a global market, proving that the coming
of age story is not only timeless in it’s
telling, but can also span across both cultural
and continental divides. |
